PLAYER INFORMATION
2018 SCGA SENIOR NET CHAMPIONSHIP
LOS SERRANOS COUNTRY CLUB – SOUTH COURSE
MONDAY – TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29 – 30
REGISTRATION:
All players must check in at the SCGA registration table outside of the golf shop on Monday, October 29th. Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:
Round 1 on Monday is a 12:00 p.m. shotgun start and Round 2 on Tuesday will be an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start
Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the championship.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
Players may make arrangements for practice rounds at their own expense. Call Los Serranos CC to secure a practice round at (909)-597-1711 or go online at www.losseranosgolfclub.com. When calling, players should identify themselves as participants in the SCGA One-day event. Practice rounds are based on availability.
Green Fee: Standard rates apply.
Power Carts: $15/Person
FORMAT:
This championship is open to amateurs who are members of a SCGA member club with an established current index as of the date of registration. Senior Division entrants must have reached their 50th birthday by October 29, 2018. Super Senior Division entrants must have reached their 65th birthday by October 29, 2018.
The lowest index (August 1 – October 15) and age (Senior Flight ages 50 – 64 and Super Senior Flight ages 65 and above) will be used to place players within the four flights and will be used to determine the player’s handicap for the competition days.
In addition, the SCGA Rules & Competitions Committee reserves the right to adjust a player’s course handicap at any time prior to or during the competition.
Senior Flights (Ages 50-64):
Arroyo Senior Flight: 9.6 Index and below.
Mission Senior Flight: 9.7 Index and above.
Super Senior Flights (Age 65 and up):
Pacific Super Senior Flight: 11.3 Index and below.
San Andreas Super Senior Flight: 11.4 Index and above.
TEES:
All Men will play from the GOLD tee markers and yardages (Holes 1, 2, & 13 will play from the WHITE yardages).
Course Rating: 70.2 / Slope: 124 / approx. 6,254 yards / Par 74.
All Women will play from the GOLD tee markers and yardages.
Course Rating: 74.3 / Slope: 130 / approx. 6,082 yards / Par 74.
DRIVING RANGE:
The driving range will be open by 6:30 a.m. on both days of the championship. Range balls will be provided compliments of Los Serranos CC and the SCGA.
FOOD SERVICE AND PURCHASES:
The SCGA will host dinner for all players only on Monday after play.
Players will be on their own for any other purchases. The snack bar and restaurant will be open at 6:00 a.m. for additional purchases for players, caddies and spectators.
Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.

RULES OF PLAY:
Play is governed by the Rules of Golf. Local Rules in effect will be found on the SCGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players addendum distributed at the site. Disregard all other club posted Local Rules including those on the back of the club’s score card.
AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION / PULL CARTS & PUSH CARTS:
Carts are included in the entry fee. There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates). Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk. Pull carts and push carts are allowed.
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES AND CELL PHONES:
During the play of all SCGA competitions, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. elevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3. A multi-functional device, such as a smartphone or PDA, may be used as a distance-measuring device, but it must not be used to gauge or measure other conditions where doing so would be a breach of Rule 14-3. Any questions about such devices should be resolved before the start of the stipulated round. Otherwise, cell phone use is discouraged during the stipulated round.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
Players may provide their own caddie (See Automotive Transportation). Caddies must adhere to the dress code listed below. Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the club.
DRESS CODE:
Players and caddies must be properly attired in golf shirts, slacks, Bermuda-length dress or golf shorts and soft spike shoes. Jeans (any color or any kind), cargo shorts, T-shirts and tank tops will not be permitted. Shirts must be tucked in and hats are to be worn forward at all times.
PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT:
By submitting an entry for any SCGA-administered competition, the contestant understands that his/her participation is at the sole discretion of the SCGA. A contestant may be removed from any competition at the discretion of the SCGA staff or Rules and Competitions Committee at any time before or during the competition. Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed to be detrimental to the image of the SCGA or the “Spirit of the Game” are grounds for such removal and suspension from future SCGA-administered competitions. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Willful damage of the golf course or golf course property
- Club throwing or unnecessary club tossing
- Offensive or unbecoming language
- Public criticism of golf course or verbal abuse of SCGA staff, officials, volunteers, host club staff or other contestants
- Potential endangerment of others
- Conduct deemed unbecoming
- Failure to post scores for handicapping purposes
- Manipulation of scores posted for handicapping purposes
CANCELLATIONS:
To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Rules and Competitions Department at (818) 980-3630, or by clicking here. If a player needs to withdraw on the morning of the event, notify the SCGA staff person through the golf shop staff at the host venue. Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions. Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $10 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
